Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional care and manage the placement and maintenance of PICC lines and midlines. You will collaborate with physicians and the health care team to deliver high-quality patient care in an acute care setting.

The role requires at least two years of acute care nursing experience, infusion/PICC experience, NY RN license, and BLS. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.

Formación

• Minimum of two years nursing experience in an acute care hospital.
• Infusion experience required; PICC experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current New York State RN licensure; BLS required.

Responsabilidades

• Assess patients with difficult access or need for long term IV therapy for vascular access.
• Collaborate with staff nurses, physicians, case managers and team members for early VAD assessment.
• Educate patients and families on Vascular Access care and maintenance.
• Review physician orders and obtain informed consent.
• Evaluate medical records for contraindications to peripheral vascular access.
• Select the best vascular access device based on meds, status and diagnoses.
• Document accurately in the patient’s permanent medical record.
