Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the IV Team/Vascular Access Service at Baystate Medical Center. The role focuses on assessing vascular access needs, inserting and maintaining IV lines, and collaborating with the care team to ensure safe, timely infusion therapy.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• One (1) or more years of registered nursing experience.
• Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and determine appropriate vascular access needs.
• Insert and maintain peripheral intravenous lines and other vascular access devices according to established standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and bedside nursing teams to support patient care.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and intervene appropriately.
• Educate patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding vascular access therapies and care.
• Document assessments, procedures, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Promote patient safety through adherence to infection prevention and regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, competency validation, and professional development activities.
