Job summary

The Registered Nurse in our VAT team at St. Joseph’s Health provides vascular access services across the hospital, including IV placement, CVAD dressing changes, port access, specimen collection and coordination with providers to choose the best access.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in NY.
• BSN degree preferred, per NYS requirements.
• Specialty credentialing and educational degree preferred.
• Maintains all licensures and certifications per NYS regulations.
• Participates in continuing education and updates in expertise.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate, communicate and facilitate optimal care through digital platforms.
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the patient’s plan from admission to discharge.
• Coordinate and support plan of care using clinical knowledge and case-management principles.
• Monitor quality metrics and ensure accurate documentation in the patient record.
• Ensure care aligns with regulatory standards and practices.
• Maintain current knowledge of healthcare economics and reimbursements; apply to practice.
