Qualifications

• Current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in the State of New York.
• BSN preferred per NYS requirements.
• National certification preferred, with 1-2 years acute cardiology or ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Admission assessment and pre op preparation.
• Coordinate and support plan of care using clinical knowledge and case management principles.
• Ensure seamless transition of care across the continuum.
• IV insertion and maintenance.
• Monitor procedures and provide sedation, IV medications and contrast dye injections.
• Perform point of care testing as directed.
• Prepare specimens and document per policy.
• Collaborate with vascular providers and medical imaging staff.
• Educate patient and family on preparation, intra procedure and post procedure care.
• Maintain documentation and monitor quality metrics within the department.
• Act as mentor and educator for students and new colleagues.
• Ensure nursing care aligns with NY Nurse Practice Act and standards.
