Job summary

Antelope Valley Medical Center seeks an experienced Vascular Access Coordinator to provide expert IV access for adults and pediatric patients. You will choose the appropriate vascular access device, perform ultrasound-guided IV insertions, and maintain catheter care with minimal needle sticks.

Requires RN licensure, ultrasound-guided IV, midline and PICC certifications, and a strong focus on patient safety and teamwork in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a licensed RN in Acute Care or ED with IV start.
• Ultrasound guided IV insertion certification required.
• Midline and PICC certifications completed or within 3 months.
• Knowledge of vein anatomy and vascular access device selection.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process in direct patient care with timely documentation.
• Educate patients/families on vascular access procedures and care.
• Coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely access.
• Monitor for infection or complications at the access site.
• Supervise others in vascular access procedures and troubleshooting.
