Job summary

Valley Health in Winchester, VA, is seeking a Vascular Access Specialist (RN) to orient and coach staff, develop competencies, and lead improvements in vascular access practices across the continuum of care.

The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, collaboration with leadership, and ongoing education. A BSN is required with RN licensure in Virginia, and 5 years of RN experience is preferred, including ICU/ED exposure. Certification in vascular access within 2–3 years is expected.

Qualifications

  • BSN is required or an agreement to begin BSN within 1 year and complete BSN or equivalence in MSN work within 5 years of hire
  • (5) years of RN experience preferred
  • ICU or ED experience preferred
  • Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as Registered Nurse required
  • BLS Certification (Healthcare Provider) required; AHA approval
  • Certification in Vascular Access within 2-3 years of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred

Responsibilities

  • Orients and coaches staff in vascular access competency.
  • Leads quality improvement initiatives and policy updates related to vascular access.
  • Coordinates with educators to develop staff training and outcomes evaluation.
  • Maintains data collection and creates graphs for educational and performance improvement purposes.
