Ryder is immediately hiring a Full-time VAS Warehouse Associate in Etna, Ohio. The role focuses on warehouse operations including loading, picking, packing, shipping and receiving with RF scanners and standard office tools. The position offers on-the-job training and a competitive benefits package.

Pay is $18/hour with a Monday–Friday 8:00 am–4:30 pm schedule. This role emphasizes leadership, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment at a Ryder facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint/Word) preferred.
• Warehouse experience preferred.
• RF scanner experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement for operations efficiency.
• Perform warehouse tasks: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Allocate daily work duties to team members to optimize shift performance.
• Inspire teams to improve KPI performance using appropriate leadership styles.
• Provide orientation and tools to staff to perform their duties.
• Promote health and safety practices in the warehouse.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork like picking sheets and bills of lading.
• Submit daily reports and propose actions to improve operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred
• One (1) year or more previous experience as Team Lead preferred
• One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
• One (1) year or more previous warehouse experience preferred
• Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner advanced required
• Valid forklift operator's license certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective leadership skills
• Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
• Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.
• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.
• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
