Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a full-time VAS Warehouse Associate in Etna, Ohio. The role offers weekly pay and a daytime schedule, with an 8:00 am to 4:30 pm shift from Monday to Friday.

You will work with state-of-the-art equipment in a safety-focused warehouse environment and support consumer goods per ecommerce operations. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, forklift certification, and experience with RF scanners and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• One year or more previous warehouse experience preferred.
• RF scanner experience required.
• Forklift operator's license required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership skills.
• Flexibility to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of the operations.
• Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize daily work duties to optimize shift operations.
• Inspire and guide team members toward KPI improvements using appropriate leadership styles.
• Provide orientation and tools to employees to perform their jobs.
• Promote health and safety practices within the warehouse.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• One (1) year or more powered industrial truck experience preferred

• One (1) year or more Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

• Allocate resources and organize and distribute daily work duties to members to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.

• Inspire and guide team members towards improved Key Performance Indicator (KPI’s) using the appropriate leadership styles and methods.

• Assist in proving appropriate orientation for employees and give them the necessary information, technology and tools to perform their jobs.

• Assist with promoting health and safety working methods within the warehouse.

• Deal with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).

• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations effectiveness and service levels.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
