Job summary

The University of New England in Maine is seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach to plan, organize, and supervise strength and conditioning programming for all varsity and club athletes. You will work closely with the athletics staff to implement scientifically-based training and injury-prevention strategies.

Ideal candidates hold NSCA CSCS certification, CPR/First Aid/AED, and have 2–3 years of collegiate coaching experience, with a commitment to safety, inclusivity, and compliance with NCAA

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2–3 years collegiate strength coaching experience preferred.
  • NSCA CSCS certification required; CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.
  • Additional professional memberships and certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement strength and conditioning plans for varsity and club sport athletes.
  • Oversee daily operations and safety inspections of Harold Alfond Forum facility.
  • Hire, train, and supervise facility staff and interns.
  • Adhere to NCAA rules and University policies.
  • Collaborate with Director and head coaches on periodized programming.
  • Teach student-athletes about training, recovery, and nutrition basics.
  • Maintain a welcoming and safe environment in the facility.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or related field
Master’s degree preferred
