Job summary

Pender County Schools is seeking a dedicated Head Coach for Varsity Softball at Topsail High School. The ideal candidate will be responsible for instructing student-athletes in skills and strategies, while promoting values like self-confidence and social behavior. Previous coaching experience and knowledge of North Carolina athletic rules are essential.

This part-time position requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Interested candidates must possess NFHS coaching certifications and CPR/AED certification.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the NFHS 'Fundamentals of Coaching' certification course.
• Annual completion of the NFHS 'Concussions in Sports' course or equivalent.
• Current CPR/AED certification; recommended to complete the NFHS 'First Aid for Coaches' course.

Responsibilities

• Instruct student athletes in fundamental skills and strategy.
• Develop regular practice schedules for team and individual development.
• Assess players' skills and assign team positions.

Skills

Ability to organize and supervise a total sports program

Previous successful coaching experience

Knowledge of technical aspects of the sport

Familiarity with North Carolina High School Athletic Association rules

Education

NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certification

Current CPR/AED certification
