Job summary

North Ridgeville City Schools is seeking an Assistant Varsity Softball Coach responsible for coaching, character development, discipline and providing direction to student athletes. Must maintain required coaching credentials and participant permits before engaging with students.

The role requires strong communication, organization and a positive coaching philosophy, with emphasis on safe and supportive learning environments and collaboration with the Athletic Department.

Qualifications

• Must have valid coaching credentials and background checks on file (BCI, FBI, CPR, First Aid for Coaches, Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion Training, Mental Health, Lindsay's Law).
• Pupil Activity Permit (PAP) on file with HR/Personnel Office PRIOR to student contact.
• Ability to coach, develop character, discipline and provide direction to student athletes.

Responsibilities

• Possess all required coaching credentials.
• Follow and uphold the policies and procedures of North Ridgeville City Schools.
• Create a safe environment conducive to learning and appropriate for student development.
• Consult with Athletic Director regarding off-season training programs and scheduling.
• Ensure team rules and eligibility are clearly communicated and followed.
• Plan and conduct tryouts when applicable.
• Direct the operations of the program with the Athletic Department.
• Instruct and demonstrate skill sets and techniques for development.
• Work with athletic trainer on injuries and safety procedures.
• Demonstrate sportsmanship and proper conduct toward opponents and community.
• Create a plan for student-athletes to pursue athletic and academic careers beyond high school.
