Job summary

North Ridgeville City Schools is seeking an Assistant Varsity Softball Coach to lead student-athletes with dedication, discipline, and skill development. You will coach, mentor and guide players, promoting sportsmanship and a positive school culture.

The role requires verified coaching credentials, strong communication, and prior high school coaching experience. Collaboration with the Athletic Department and Trainers will ensure safe, well-organized programs and successful tryouts.

Qualifications

• Must be a positive role model for staff and students in and out of school.
• Strong coaching philosophy with clear communication and organizational skills.
• Previous high school coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Possess all required coaching credentials.
• Follow and uphold the policies and procedures of North Ridgeville City Schools.
• Create a safe learning environment appropriate for students’ physical, social and emotional development.
• Consult with Athletic Director regarding off-season training, camps, practices and schedules.
• Ensure team rules and eligibility are clearly communicated and followed.
• Plan, organize, advertise and conduct tryouts when applicable.
• Direct the program operations with the Athletic Department.
• Instruct and demonstrate skills and techniques for development.
• Work with the athletic trainer on injuries, safety precautions and procedures.
• Model good sportsmanship with opponents, fans, officials and community.
• Create a proactive plan for student-athletes pursuing athletic and academic careers after high school.
• Maintain appropriate relationships with student-athletes, including social media use and communication.
• Attend Conference, County and State meetings.
