Job summary

Huron Valley Schools is seeking a Varsity Head Baseball Coach for Lakeland High School. This position is governed by a per-contract Schedule B and reports to the Athletic Director, starting ASAP through the 2026-2027 school year.

The ideal candidate will lead practices, games, and related activities, manage program development, and ensure safety and compliance with school policies. High school diploma required; coaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Able to instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for athletes to realize a degree of individual and team success
• Experience as a player is desired but not necessary
• Coaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment sites
• Perform duties which may be assigned by the Athletic Director
• Instill in each player a respect for equipment, and school property
• The position includes other unusual aspects such as extended time, risk injury factors and due process predicaments
• Schedule all practices, clinics, camps and competitions
• Continue to grow professionally by attending seminars and clinics
• Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation
• Implement and design clinics in order to promote the sport

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma and/or related experience.

LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS: Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
