Job summary

Huron Valley Schools in Lakeland High School is seeking a passionate JV Sideline Cheer Coach to lead the squad with energy and innovation. The position belongs to Athletics/Activities/Coaching and reports to the Athletic Director.

Start date is ASAP, with responsibilities including clinics, practice and competition scheduling, and will coordinate with school staff to promote safety, sportsmanship, and team development.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPR certification required for the season.
  • Coaching experience preferred.
  • Playing experience at high school/college level preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule practices, clinics, camps and competitions.
  • Provide proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of equipment sites.
  • Carry out duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
  • Instill respect for equipment and school property.
  • Design and implement clinics to promote the sport.
  • Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and teamwork.

Huron Valley Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and innovative JV Sideline Cheer Coach


Position Type: Athletics/Activities/Coaching


Location: Lakeland High School


Reports To: Athletic Director


Start Date: ASAP


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Able to instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for athletes to realize a degree of individual and team success

  • Coaching experience preferred

  • Playing experience at the high school or college level is preferred

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, and be a high school graduate.

  • CPR certification required for the season.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Provide proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment sites

  • Perform duties which may be assigned by the Athletic Director

  • Instills in each player a respect for equipment, and school property

  • The position includes other unusual aspects such as extended time, risk injury factors and due process predicaments

  • Implement and design clinics in order to promote the sport

  • Schedule all practices, clinics, camps and competitions

  • Continue to grow professionally by attending seminars and clinics

  • Maintains discipline and works to increase morale and cooperation


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma and/or related experience.


LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS: Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral format and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
