Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools District 209 in Illinois seeks a Varsity Head Coach for Boys Swimming and Diving. This stipend, non-tenure assignment reports to the Director of Athletics and Activities and the Building Principal or Designee, contingent on enrollment and program approval.

The coach will lead a comprehensive program, collaborate with students, teachers, and parents, ensure safety, and foster a positive, disciplined team culture with strong instructional and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois state teaching certificate or ASEP/NFHS certification is required.
• CPR/AED certification and IHSA concussion training are mandatory.
• Background check and fingerprinting clearance are required by policy.
• Title IX training must be completed to ensure compliance with anti-discrimination laws.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the program.
• Demonstrate strong leadership, supervision, and organizational skills.
• Foster an inclusive environment for students, staff, and parents.
• Maintain positive relations with stakeholders and uphold standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement training programs based on best practices.
• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with IHSA rules and district, ISBE, and federal regulations.
