Job summary

Proviso Township High Schools District 209 seeks a Girls Swimming and Diving Varsity Head Coach to lead and manage the program under the Athletic Director. You will work with students, faculty, administrators, and parents to create a competitive, disciplined team culture.

The ideal candidate will have teaching certification or ASEP/NFHS certification, IHSA concussion training, Title IX knowledge, and proven coaching experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois State Teaching Certificate (Type 03, 09, or 10) OR ASEP/NFHS Certification.
• CPR and AED certification as required by IHSA.
• IHSA concussion awareness training and safety protocols.
• Background check and fingerprinting clearance.
• Title IX training for compliance with anti-discrimination laws.
• In-depth knowledge of the sport, rules, techniques, and strategies.
• Prior successful coaching experience in the sport.
• Coaching certification for non-teaching staff (ASEP/NFHS/IHSA-approved).
• Concussion certification valid for two years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the program.
• Demonstrate leadership, supervision, and organization in program implementation.
• Foster an inclusive environment for students, faculty, coaches, and parents.
• Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and uphold professionalism.
• Inspire student-athletes and staff through dedication and example.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement training programs based on best practices.
• Instruct athletes and assistant coaches in fundamentals, strategies, and safety.
• Ensure conduct standards and sportsmanship for student-athletes.
• Ensure compliance with IHSA, ISBE, district and federal regulations.
