Proviso Township High Schools District 209 in Hillside, IL seeks a Boys Wrestling Varsity Head Coach to lead and develop a competitive program, partnering with students, faculty, and parents under the Athletic Director. The role is a stipend, extra-duty assignment with responsibilities for program oversight, training plans, safety, and compliance with IHSA and Title IX.

Qualifications

• Illinois teaching certificate or ASEP/NFHS certification.
• CPR and AED certification per IHSA requirements.
• IHSA concussion training and safety protocols.
• Background check and fingerprinting clearance.
• Federal Title IX training compliance.
• Deep knowledge of the sport with coaching experience.
• Strong instructional skills in fundamentals, strategy, and conditioning.
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity in athletics.
• Coaching certification for non-teaching staff as required.
• Concussion certification valid for two years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the program.
• Demonstrate leadership, supervision, and organization in program implementation.
• Foster a cooperative, enthusiastic, and inclusive environment for students, staff, and parents.
• Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and exhibit professionalism.
• Inspire student-athletes and coaching staff by example and dedication.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement training programs based on best practices.
• Instruct athletes and assistants in fundamentals, team strategies, and safety.
• Establish conduct and sportsmanship standards for student-athletes.
• Ensure compliance with IHSA, ISBE, and district regulations.
• Support Title IX compliance and equal opportunities for all athletes.
• Collaborate on annual game schedules, equipment planning, and budgeting.
