Job summary

Manassas Park City Schools seeks a 2026-2027 Boys’ Varsity Soccer Head Coach (HS) to organize and promote a comprehensive athletic program designed for academic emphasis and positive leadership. The role reports to the Director of Athletics/Director of Student Activities.

The position includes a one-time $5,000 stipend with hours to be set with the Athletic Director, and requires VHSL training compliance and MPCS involvement.

Qualifications

• MPCS staff preferred.
• Knowledge and background in assigned sport.
• Previous coaching experience in assigned sport is desirable.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and meet training requirements for athletic coaches.

Responsibilities

• Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages potential athletes to participate in the sport.
• Assesses players’ skills and assigns team positions.
• Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time for individual and team development.
• Works with the athletics director in scheduling facilities for practices and competitions.
• Assigns duties to an assistant coach as necessary.
• Observes players during competition and practice to determine needs for improvement.
• Determines game strategy based on team capabilities.
• Maintains student behavior standards and proper supervision of athletes.
• Monitors academic performance to ensure eligibility requirements are met.
