Job summary

Manassas Park City Schools seeks a Varsity Assistant Football Coach for the 2026-2027 season. The coach reports to the Head Coach/Athletic Director and helps carry out the sports program's aims, teaching athletes fundamentals, strategies, and conditioning for team success.

Responsibilities include safety, record-keeping, equipment coordination, and communication with parents, while upholding MPCS and VHSL policies. Candidates must be 18+, with sport experience preferred.

Qualifications

• MPCS staff preferred.
• Knowledge and background in assigned sport.
• Previous coaching experience in assigned sport is desirable.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment and meet all MPCS, VHSL, and applicable training requirements for athletic coaches.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in fundamentals, strategies, and training for individual and team success.
• Instructs participants on personal hygiene and safety procedures and reporting injuries promptly.
• Fosters values of athletics, good sportsmanship, team pride in self, team, school and community.
• Maintains accurate records of equipment and athletic performance with Head Coach/Director.
• Conveys team and school policies to participants and ensures compliance with VHSL and MPCS rules.
• Ensures a safe environment with proper supervision and emergency readiness.
• Communicates with parents/guardians and assists in public relations for athletic programs.
• Performs other related duties as required to support the program.
