Job summary

Manassas Park City Schools seeks a Varsity Assistant Coach for Outdoor Track at the high school. The role supports the Head Coach in developing athletes and implementing training plans to foster team success and personal growth.

This stipend-based position has hours set in coordination with the Varsity Coach and the Athletic Director, and requires adherence to MPCS safety policies and program guidelines.

Qualifications

• MPCS staff preferred.
• Knowledge and background in assigned sport.
• Previous coaching experience in assigned sport is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Instructs athletes in fundamentals, strategies, and physical training for success.
• Maintains safety procedures and ensures timely injury reporting to coach and/or trainer.
• Fosters sportsmanship, pride in self, team, school, and community among participants and spectators.
• Keeps accurate records of equipment and program performance; coordinates with athletics staff.
• Conveys team and MPCS policies to all participants and ensures policy compliance.
• Ensures compliance with Virginia High School League rules and MPCS guidelines.
• Maintains communication with parents/guardians regarding program details.
• Supports Head Coach with public relations and dissemination of athletic program information.
