Job summary

Shady Side Academy seeks an Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at the Senior School in Pittsburgh, PA for the upcoming season. The successful candidate will support the head coach in developing the boys basketball program while modeling the academy’s guiding principles: honesty, kindness, responsibility, respect and safety.

Qualifications

Minimum two years coaching experience at high school, middle school, or club level preferred.
Excellent candidates with collegiate and club coaching experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and implement an extensive athletic program management plan for boys basketball.
Coordinate athletic planning, development, and assessment focused on student-athletes.
Prepare student-athletes for competition.
Develop and implement training and conditioning programs.
Maintain standards of team behavior and respect for rules.
Ensure adherence to governing body rules and school policies.
Collaborate with the Director of Athletics, head coach, and staff to achieve athletics goals.
Support retention and promote teamwork, academic and leadership development.
