Mississippi Department of Transportation is seeking an entry-level vocational worker responsible for basic equipment operation and maintenance. The role may include repairing traffic signals, installing and maintaining signs, applying herbicides and ice/snow chemicals, striping, traffic control, pothole patching, and disaster response.
Experience is not strictly required; a High School Diploma or GED is typical, with some substitutions possible for experience.
First-level vocational position accountable for technical work in involving the least complex equipment operation and maintenance. Employees may also be responsible for repairing traffic signals; installing and maintaining signs; applying herbicide, pesticide, and snow and ice chemicals; striping; traffic control; pothole patching; and responding to natural and man-made disasters.
High School Diploma/GED -Some cases we will be able to substitute experience for education. Pay depends on experience and discussed at interview.
