Job summary

Capital District Physicians Health Plan Inc is seeking a Publishing Systems Engineer to design and develop document generation systems within the Document Solutions team. The role spans Level I to III responsibilities, including coding, analysis, and mentoring of junior developers.

The position focuses on programming within the systems used by the Solutions Team, with opportunities to contribute to architecture and automation across electronic publishing platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; or Associate degree with related experience.
• Experience with Variable Data composition.
• Knowledge of SQL, Oracle, DB2 or similar databases.
• Familiarity with XML/HTML/SGML data structures.
• Experience with JAVA or shell scripting; web programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops code and resolves system issues for electronic publishing.
• Builds/updates workflows and documents using variable data composition systems.
• Documents specifications and solutions for work to be performed.
• Participates in business requirement planning and analysis sessions.
• Mentors junior developers and participates in on-call support.
