The Guidance Center is seeking a part-time Van Driver to transport clients across Atchison, Jefferson and Leavenworth Counties. Responsibilities include door-to-door pickups, coordinating with clinical staff and maintaining vehicle readiness in a fast-paced environment.

Required: High School diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license; preferred: Class B CDL. Prior driving experience with strong reliability and customer service is valued. Competitive hourly pay and flexible schedules are offered.

Responsabilités

• Provide door‑to‑door transportation for clients in Atchison, Jefferson, and Leavenworth Counties on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
• Transport CSS clients for resource acquisition (groceries, medical appointments, etc.) as directed by supervisor.
• Transport clients to and from other treatment facilities per treatment plans; assist youth in programs as directed.
• Maintain daily records of transportation services provided (miles, time, fuel).
• Maintain vans and coordinate routine service/repairs; arrange inspections as needed.

Part‑time Description

The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. We provide high-quality care to all individuals, regardless of their financial circumstances. The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Van Driver - PT to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. The responsibility of this person will be to drive Center vans as scheduled by the supervisor and keep them operational.

Primary Duties

• Provide door to door transportation of clients residing in Atchison, Jefferson, and Leavenworth Counties to and from the Adult Psychosocial Program and other treatment activities, occurring on weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Many activity outings occur locally and, in the surrounding, metropolitan area.
• Transport CSS clients for resource acquisition (obtaining groceries, medical appointments, etc.) as directed by the supervisor or designee.
• Transport CSS clients to and from other treatment facilities/agencies consistent with their treatment plan, such as nursing facility for mental health residents
• Transport youth participating in Youth Psychosocial Programs as directed by supervisor.
• Maintain daily records of transportation service provided as required, i.e., number served, miles driven, time required, gallons of gasoline used.
• Maintain the vans by monitoring all needed service and repairs (cleaning, oil changes, tires, brakes, belts, etc.), then arrange for the service needed as directed by the supervisor.
• Take the vans to Topeka for the annual inspection required by the Kansas Department of Transportation if directed by the supervisor.
• Perform additional tasks/responsibilities as assigned.
• Provide response and support to clients and caregivers when emergencies occur and immediately notify supervisor for additional direction.
• Adapt to changing work priorities and a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE: Required: High School diploma or GED, and valid driver's license

Preferred: Class B CDL

Experience

Preferred: previous professional driving experience transporting people, products, equipment, or supplies, with demonstrated safe driving practices, reliability, and customer service skills.
