Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Moon Township, PA is seeking a dedicated Van Driver to transport residents on a scheduled basis and for special trips coordinated by the activity department.

You will assist in planning routes, maintain logs, ensure the van is clean and safe, and support the Activities/Programming team. A high school diploma and a safe driving record are essential, along with a valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Safe driving record with DMV report.
• Current driver’s license for vehicle type used.
• Polite and courteous to residents, visitors, coworkers and supervisor.
• Organized and team-oriented.
• Able to ascend/descend stairs and operate wheelchair lift.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. and work flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide van transportation to residents on a scheduled basis and for special trips sponsored through the activity department.

• Keep appropriate records. Maintain mileage log, repair log, trip and expenses as required.
• Keep receipts for expenses and submit them to Life Enrichment Director.
• Keep van clean inside and out. Ensure routine maintenance and needed repairs are performed in a timely manner.
• Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor and Harmony Senior Services immediately.
• Assists Activities/Programming Department with activities as assigned.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the department.
• Attends all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Completes all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have current driver’s license designated to permit operating the type of vehicle used by the community
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, co-workers and supervisor
• Must be organized and willing to work with others as part of a team
• Must be physically and mentally capable of performing job duties
• Must be able to ascend and descend stairs frequently, operate a wheelchair lift, and push a resident in a wheelchair
• Must be able to represent the residence in a professional manner with neat dress and courteous manner. May be required to wear designated uniform
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some weekend and evening hours
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
