Job summary

Volunteers of America’s Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE in Montrose, CO is seeking a Personal Caregiver to support frail or elderly participants at home and in day centers. This full-time role offers meaningful, purpose-driven work delivering non-skilled ADL assistance, daily living support, and companionship.

You bring a High School diploma, at least one year of relevant experience, and an active CPR/First Aid certification, plus a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience with frail or elderly population.
  • Active CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist participants with non-skilled activities of daily living (ADL’s) in the home and in the Day Center including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, hair care, mouth care, eating, hand and foot nail care and toileting as assigned or needed.
  • Assists participants with non-skilled restorative and supportive care in the home and in the Day Center including ambulating, positioning, transferring, skin care, personal care, etc. as assigned or needed.
  • Assists participants with Independent Activities of Daily Living (IADL’s) including, but not limited to, grocery shopping, cleaning, changing bed linens, laundry, meal preparation and other routine household care as assigned.
  • Assists with participant activities in the Day Center, including meal service and clean-up.
  • Performs other duties as required or requested.

Pay: $18.50 - $22.50 per hour, based on previous work experience.

Schedules: Fulltime, 80 hours per pay period. Days and shift vary on care needs. Occasional weekends are required.

What You Bring (Requirements)

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • A minimum of one year’s experience in working with the frail or elderly population required.
  • Active CPR/First Aid Certification
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation. *Must be at least 21 years of age.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Senior Community Care of Colorado PACE (Montrose) provides healthcare and supportive services for individuals age 55 and older, helping them live safely, comfortably, and independently in their own homes and communities. As a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) provider and the first of its kind in Western Colorado, our interdisciplinary teams deliver personalized, comprehensive care tailored to each participant’s needs.
