Job summary

Family & Children\'s Services in Norman, OK is seeking a Transportation Driver to safely shuttle program clients to and from the office and community locations. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver\'s license, and a clean driving record, with 2+ years of transportation experience preferred.

You will coordinate with program staff, maintain logs, follow agency policies, and provide courteous service.

Responsibilities

• Informs supervisor of any van repairs/maintenance as necessary. Takes van(s) in for repairs/maintenance as necessary. Monitors and tracks general van maintenance and care.
• Adheres to all agency policies regarding transportation of clients, vehicle operation, accident reporting and cell phone usage.
• All needed transportation services for clients will be coordinated and requested by program staff and not directly from clients.
• Maintain log of all related transportation services and gas related expenses.
• Requires ability to work with the public, ability to maintain an effective working relationship with agency employees, ability to maintain a professional manner at all times and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Other errands and duties as assigned

Job Summary: Duties include provision of transportation for program clients to and from the office, or other locations as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge of co-occurring disorders and appropriate interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

• Must be a high school graduate or have HS equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

• Must maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Prefer 2+ years experience in transportation services.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

• Must possess a valid Driver License and satisfactory driving record to use agency automobile to travel to locations other than primary office and/or for the transportation of clients.

SAFETY SENSITIVE JOB CLASSIFICATION:

This job is classified as a “safety-sensitive” position as defined by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act. Due to the “safety-sensitive” classification, an employee in this position would be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Driver will be working with FCS clients, who may have greater challenges with communication due to confusion, mild agitation, or active symptoms of mental illness.
• Driver should be prepared to rapidly assess any potentially escalating situation and engage appropriate clinical assistance or crisis intervention services.
