Job summary

Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Duval – Austin, TX 78727 is seeking a Transport Driver to safely operate and maintain transportation vehicles for residents. You will drive a van or bus on scheduled routes, assist residents in and out of the vehicle, and document mileage and trips as required.

Must have a valid Texas driver's license, be 25 or older, and pass a motor vehicle screen. CNA preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must have working knowledge of rules and regulations for safe operation of automotive equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of basic automotive maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operate vehicle safely to transport residents to and from destinations.
  • Drive a van or bus on scheduled routes.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Provide assistance to residents entering and exiting the vehicle.
  • Complete trip, accident and incident reports as required.
  • Assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies when needed.
  • Document vehicle usage and mileage.
  • Coordinate with dispatcher for route assignments.

Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Duval – Austin, TX 78727

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform work in the operation of a vehicle to assure safe transportation to and from various destinations.
  • Drive a van or bus over a scheduled route.
  • Maintain focus on safety while operating and maintaining transportation vehicles.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary.
  • Fuel vehicles when needed.
  • Ensure periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported.
  • Document vehicle usage and mileage.
  • Prepare trip, accident and incident reports as necessary.
  • Assist residents and passengers in and out of the vehicle.
  • Provide safety briefing to residents and passengers.
  • Provide other services as requested by management.
  • Receive direction and route assignments from the dispatcher or supervisor.
  • Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations if necessary.
  • Actively assist and participate in the enhancement of residents’ lives through dedicated approach to patient care.
  • Actively assist and participate in the development and retention of staff through recruitment, training and nurturing employees of the nursing facility.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Administrator in accordance with the qualifications and training.
