Job summary

  • Assist in emergency evacuations if necessary.
  • Support staff development and resident well-being as part of facility operations.

Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Duval – Austin, TX 78727

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform work in the operation of a vehicle to assure safe transportation to and from various destinations.
  • Drive a van or bus over a scheduled route.
  • Maintain focus on safety while operating and maintaining transportation vehicles.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles when necessary.
  • Fuel vehicles when needed.
  • Ensure periodic scheduled vehicle maintenance is completed and reported.
  • Document vehicle usage and mileage.
  • Prepare trip, accident and incident reports as necessary.
  • Assist residents and passengers in and out of the vehicle.
  • Provide safety briefing to residents and passengers.
  • Provide other services as requested by management.
  • Receive direction and route assignments from the dispatcher or supervisor.
  • Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations if necessary.
  • Actively assist and participate in the enhancement of residents’ lives through dedicated approach to patient care.
  • Actively assist and participate in the development and retention of staff through recruitment, training and nurturing employees of the nursing facility.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Administrator in accordance with the qualifications and training.
Essential Functions
  • Must have a working knowledge of the rules and regulations involved in the safe and efficient operation of automotive equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of basic automotive maintenance procedures.
