Job description

The Van Driver will provide reliable transportation between Chester and Swarthmore for children who take part in the Chester Children’s Chorus program.

Essential Responsibilities

Tasks performed include ensuring the safety of passengers, accounting for all children at pick‑up and drop‑off points, assuring children’s orderly behavior, and enforcing all motor vehicle safety laws.

Additional Responsibilities

Drivers may be asked to drive for special concerts or appearances.

Required Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience, skills and interest in working with children is essential. Must be able to work independently and make mature decisions in unanticipated situations. Must have a valid driver’s license and pass criminal, child abuse, and driving background checks. Must be at least 25 years old to meet insurance requirements of rental agencies.

Preferred Qualifications

Van driving experience not essential, but it is preferred.

Clearances Required by Position

Act 153 Clearance

• Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) through the Pennsylvania State Police
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (PACA) through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services
• FBI Criminal History Background Check (FBI Fingerprint).

MVR Clearance

Due to operating a College owned motor vehicle while performing essential job responsibilities for this position, a motor vehicle report (MVR) clearance is required prior to the start of employment.

Pay

The pay for this position is $20.00 per hour, which represents the College’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting.
