Job summary

The Salvation Army in Mobile, AL is seeking a Seasonal Full Time Driver to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities during the Christmas season. You will operate a Salvation Army vehicle, log mileage, fuel as required, and ring bells at sites while engaging the public in a courteous manner.

Requirements include a valid State Driver's License, a High School Diploma or GED, and about two years of vehicle operation experience.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience operating an automotive vehicle or equivalent training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Drives a Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities, including kettle or angel tree sites.
• Drives a Salvation Army vehicle during the Christmas season to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities or sites.
• Drives carefully and observes traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
• Logs mileage on standard forms. Fuels vehicles in accordance with standards.
• Rings bells at assigned location. Ability to relate to the general public in a polite, friendly manner.

Job Location: ALM-Coastal Alabama Area Command - Mobile, AL 36604, Position Type: Seasonal Full Time, Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, Salary Range: $12.00 - $12.00 Hourly, Job Category: Christmas, Schedule/Hours: Days/hours vary. Off on Sunday.

Responsibilities:

• Drives a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities including kettle or angel tree sites. Pick-up and deliver donated items and other supplies. Rings bells for The Salvation Army Christmas Program at assigned locations.
• Drives a Salvation Army vehicle during the Christmas season in order to transport passengers to and from Salvation Army activities or sites.
• Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
• Logs all mileage on standard forms. Fuels vehicles in accordance with standards.
• Rings bells at assigned location. Ability to relate to the general public in a polite, friendly manner.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic.

Work is performed outside in a wide variety of weather conditions. Dressing appropriately is important for comfort.
