Job summary

The Northbridge Companies are seeking a Van Driver/Activities Assistant in North Dartmouth, MA to transport residents safely to appointments and events and to help lead engaging activities under the Engagement Director.

You will support a caring community, provide friendly service, and help residents enjoy outings, exercise programs, art projects, and social events during a part-time weekend- and weekday schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to safely operate a passenger van.
• Comfortable interacting with seniors and families.
• Excellent communication with residents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to appointments, outings, and events.
• Assist in running activities with the Engagement Director (exercise programs, sessions, art, trips, spiritual gatherings, music).
• Ensure passenger comfort and safety during transit.
• Assist residents boarding and exiting the van; help with van cleanliness and safety checks.
• Participate in community programs as needed; communicate issues promptly.

Van Driver Job Summary

Your main responsibility will be to ensure the safe and comfortable transportation of our residents. As a Van Driver, you'll contribute to the well-being of our community members by providing reliable transportation for various activities and appointments. When drives are not scheduled, the Van Driver will help make our residents' lives more enjoyable with fun and engaging activities.

Responsibilities:

• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, outings, and community events.
• Work with the Engagement Director to help run a variety of activities, like exercise programs, interesting sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
• Ensure the comfort and well-being of passengers during transit.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van safely.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the van, conducting routine inspections.
• Assist in community programs and activities as needed.
• Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and community members.
• Report any issues or incidents promptly.
• Uphold a friendly and helpful demeanor to create a positive experience for residents.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate a passenger van safely and responsibly.
• Love connecting with seniors and naturally get along with them.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with seniors.
• Respectful and patient attitude towards residents.
• Physical ability to assist residents with boarding and exiting the van.
