Job summary

The Northbridge Companies is seeking a Van Driver / Activities Assistant to safely transport residents and support engaging activities. Shifts are Sunday 9am-3pm, Monday 9am-5pm and Wednesday 9am-5pm to help connect residents with programs and appointments.

You will work with the Engagement Director to run exercise programs, art projects, trips, and social events, while ensuring comfort, safety, and a positive experience for residents.

Qualifications

  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate a passenger van.
  • Comfort and experience engaging with seniors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient and respectful demeanor.
  • Ability to assist residents with boarding/exiting vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport residents to and from appointments, outings, and community events.
  • Work with the Engagement Director to help run a variety of activities, like exercise programs, interesting sessions, art projects, trips, spiritual gatherings, and events with speakers and music.
  • Ensure the comfort and well-being of passengers during transit.
  • Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van safely.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the van, conducting routine inspections. Assist in community programs and activities as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and community members.
  • Report any issues or incidents promptly.
  • Uphold a friendly and helpful demeanor to create a positive experience for residents.

Van Driver Job Summary

Your main responsibility will be to ensure the safe and comfortable transportation of our residents. As a Van Driver, you'll contribute to the well-being of our community members by providing reliable transportation for various activities and appointments. When drives are not scheduled, the Van Driver will help make our residents' lives more enjoyable with fun and engaging activities.
