Job summary

Care Initiatives is hiring a Van Driver for Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids, IA. You will transport residents to appointments and events, assist with boarding and wheelchair securement, and coordinate timely pickups and drop-offs.

Work with nursing staff to ensure residents are safe and comfortable throughout transport. The position emphasizes reliability, strong communication, and compassionate care, with opportunities for CPR/first aid certification and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Class D driver’s license.
• Not more than 2 traffic violations in the last 3 years.
• No DUI convictions.
• CPR and first aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and events.
• Assist residents with boarding/exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.

• CPR and first aide certification or willingness to accomplish
