Care Initiatives in Eldora, IA is hiring a part-time Van Driver to transport residents to appointments and events. You will assist residents with boarding, secure wheelchairs, and coordinate pickups with nursing staff.

Strong driving record and valid Class D license required; CPR/First Aid or willingness to obtain certification encouraged. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and compassionate resident interactions within a supportive care team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement.
• Not more than 2 traffic violations within the last 3 years.
• No previous driving while under the influence convictions.
• CPR and first aide certification or willingness to accomplish.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.
