Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Experience driving children or passenger vehicles preferred.
• Able to pass criminal background and driving-record checks; drug screening if required.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain after hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children to and from local schools, field trips, and activities.
• Ensure children are seated and secured before driving.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report safety concerns.

First Step Learning Centers is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Van Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for our children to and from local schools, field trips, and other approved activities. The ideal candidate is punctual, professional, enjoys working with children, and is committed to maintaining a safe environment during transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport children to and from local schools, field trips, and center-approved activities.
• Ensure all children are properly seated and secured before operating the vehicle.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe company vehicle.
• Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and childcare transportation regulations.
• Perform accurate attendance and head counts before departure, during transport, and upon arrival.
• Communicate effectively with center management regarding transportation schedules, delays, or incidents.
• Assist children with entering and exiting the vehicle safely.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and child-friendly attitude at all times.
• Complete required transportation logs and documentation.
• Assist with light classroom or center duties when transportation responsibilities are complete, as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Previous experience driving children or passenger vehicles is preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, driving record check, and any required drug screening.
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to enter and exit the vehicle multiple times throughout the day.
