Job summary

First Step Learning Centers is seeking a dependable Van Driver to transport children safely to and from local schools, field trips, and approved activities. The role requires punctuality, a child-friendly attitude, and a strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, proper seating, attendance checks, and clear communication with center management about schedules and delays. A Texas driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certification are required or obtainable after hire.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Experience driving children or passenger vehicles preferred.
• Able to pass criminal background and driving-record checks; drug screening if required.
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain after hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children to and from local schools, field trips, and activities.
• Ensure children are seated and secured before driving.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized vehicle; follow traffic laws and policies.
• Take attendance and head counts; communicate delays or incidents to management.
• Assist children entering/exiting the vehicle safely and professionally.
