Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a student transportation van driver for Ellington Public Schools in Connecticut. The driver will transport students on in-district and out-of-district runs, ensuring safety and punctuality.

Required are a valid Connecticut driver's license, ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug testing, and endorsement options (V or PS). CDL with PS endorsement also accepted. Physical and mental demands include long periods of sitting and driving in all weather.

Qualifications

Job description: Ellington Public Schools is seeking applications for a student transportation van driver. Successful candidate will transport Ellington student(s) on in and out of district runs.

Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a valid Connecticut driver's license. Must be able to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug testing. Must have V Endorsement or be willing to with the school district to obtain endorsement.

A CDL license with a PS endorsement will also be accepted.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Completing daily required Pre-Trip inspections, fueling and keeping vehicle clean.


• Safely transporting students to and from school in a manner that ensures their safety; promoting a positive attitude toward learning; following all laws, rules and regulations.


• Occasionally complete additional paperwork related to student conduct/behavior

Physical Effort Required:

• This position requires extended periods of sitting, extended repetitive motions of steering.


• Must be awake and alert at all times while driving.

Mental Effort Required:

• Position requires ability to drive safely in all weather conditions, despite noise, distractions and interruptions while in traffic; complete route correctly and safely within a time frame.


• This position requires dealing with some conflict resolution.
