Job summary

Columbus Springs-East seeks a dedicated Transport Driver to safely move patients between locations and the hospital campus. You will maintain mileage logs, keep vehicles clean, and ensure patient care is delivered with dignity and respect in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum one year in customer service is required, with two years driving experience preferred. A valid driver’s license and favorable MVR are essential to join our patient-centered team.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or equivalent Required.
• Experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred. Minimum of two (2) years paid or volunteer professional driving experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a customer service position.
• License: Valid driver's license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Employs crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as required and according to policy and procedure.
• Shuttles patients to designated locations approved by supervisor.
• Protects patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
• Operates and uses only equipment trained to use and keeps equipment in safe condition.
• Reports all potential safety concerns to supervisor/manager.
• Reports all accidents and incidents observed on shift to manager immediately.
• Monitors vehicle condition and records malfunctioning items or damage.
• Must be able to learn and remember pick-up and destination points.

How you'll contribute

This position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients from various locations and facilities to the Hospital campus and/or other designated locations. This position will maintain a daily log of mileage and gasoline usage and submit all gas receipts to the appropriate person(s). Responsible for cleaning the interior of the car on a regular basis, assuring the vehicle is presentable for the transport of patients. Position will also maintain mileage records for the purpose of scheduling routine maintenance. Responsible for ensuring that patients are supervised; safety is maintained at all times; and patients are treated with respect and dignity.
