Job summary

TPG Hotels & Resorts at the Kimpton Overland Hotel in Atlanta seeks a shuttle van driver to transport guests, staff, and clients safely and efficiently to airports, attractions, and offices. You will greet passengers, assist with luggage, and provide local information to ensure a pleasant journey.

You will follow schedules, maintain a clean driving record, perform pre-trip checks, report maintenance needs, and keep transport records. Flexible hours and a strong customer focus are required.

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Previous driver experience, preferably in customer service.
  • Knowledge of local roads, routes, and traffic patterns.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with guests.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift luggage if necessary.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The shuttle van driver at the Kimpton Overland Hotel is responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation for hotel guests, staff, or clients to predetermined destinations. They create a positive and welcoming experience for passengers while adhering to traffic rules and maintaining the shuttle van in good condition.

  • Transportation:
  • Safely operate the hotel's shuttle van to transport passengers to and from specified locations, such as airports, local attractions, and corporate offices.
  • Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
  • Guest Satisfaction:
  • Greet passengers with a friendly and professional demeanor, offering assistance with luggage and ensuring a pleasant journey.
  • Address passenger inquiries, provide information about the hotel and local area, and offer recommendations if requested.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all traffic regulations and safety protocols to ensure the safety of passengers and fellow road users.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and demonstrate safe driving practices at all times.
  • Vehicle Maintenance:
  • Conduct regular pre-trip inspections of the shuttle van to ensure it is in proper working condition.
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department and ensure routine maintenance tasks are scheduled and completed.
  • Keep the shuttle van clean and presentable both inside and outside, ensuring a comfortable and inviting environment for passengers.
  • Communication:
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with passengers, fellow drivers, and hotel staff.
  • Relay relevant information, such as delays or changes to the schedule, to passengers and the hotel team.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Keep accurate records of passenger trips, mileage, and any incidents that occur during transportation.
  • Complete necessary paperwork or digital documentation related to transportation services.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience as a driver, preferably in a customer service-oriented role.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Physical work is a primary part of job and it is performed outside and operating a motor vehicle. The exposure to hazards or physical risks that requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment. The physical requirements include extended walking, standing, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling and lifting up to 100 pounds. While performing job duties, the associate is required to listen, speak and write. The job requires close and distance vision with or without corrective lenses. This position is required to operate a motor vehicle.
