Job summary

Oakwood Specialty Care in Albia, IA is hiring a part-time Van Driver to safely transport residents to appointments and events with compassion. You will assist with boarding, wheelchair securement, and adherence to schedules while keeping residents safe and comfortable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement.
• No more than 2 traffic violations in the last 3 years.
• No DUI convictions.
• CPR and first aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle (fuel, fluids, basic supplies).
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities
