Job summary

Carotek, a SunSource company, in Matthews, NC is seeking a technically oriented customer service specialist for the Valves Division. You will input orders, process quotes, answer questions, and provide support to outside sales staff; no outbound sales; heavy interaction with service technicians and accounting.

Minimum education: Associate’s degree or 2–4 years related experience; preferred bachelor’s degree in business or engineering; strong mechanical aptitude and MS Office/Prophet 21

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year College or Technical school; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from a business or engineering related program is preferred.
• Working knowledge of valves, and/or electrical, pneumatics, mechanical assemblies, gauges, instrumentation, and/or a very strong mechanical aptitude;
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical drawings, write reports and general business correspondence;
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions and percentages and the ability to convert standard measurement to metric;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, etc.), Prophet 21.

Responsibilities

• Input orders, process quotes, and provide customer service for the Valves Division.
• Answer questions or resolve problems related to replacement parts or equipment.
• Compute quotes by calculating price, discounts, and shipping.
• Coordinate with accounting to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Support outside sales staff and maintain product knowledge.
• Document communications and ensure accurate order processing.
