Job summary

FloWorks is seeking an Automation Technician in Garland, TX to build, test, and troubleshoot automated valve and actuator assemblies using electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components. You will read schematics, technical manuals, and CAD drawings, and support quality inspections, shipping and warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in home appliance repair preferred.
• Prior experience in automotive repair preferred.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred).
• Fluke Meters, 4-20 mA Generators, Electrical Wiring, Tube Bending; Pneumatic tools & compressed air experience.
• Ability to read schematics/technical manuals and CAD drawings.
• Operate basic hand tools, Forklift, Jib Cranes; MS SharePoint/Outlook/Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Build, automate, and function test valve and actuator assemblies.
• Assist with automation final QC/QA and photo documentation.
• Troubleshoot automation/valve issues in the shop.
• Provide backup support for Shipping Manager: packaging, dock coverage, unloading/loading trucks.
• Provide offsite support if needed.
• Print and edit ADS documentation.
• Maintain general warehouse/shop safety and cleanliness.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and trainings.

Job Information:

This hands-on position builds, tests, and troubleshoots automated valve and actuator assemblies using electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components. The Automation Technician works with equipment such as Fluke meters, 4-20 mA generators, wiring, tubing, solenoids, positioners, and other automation accessories while reading schematics, technical manuals, and CAD drawings. The role also supports quality inspections, shipping and warehouse operations, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build, automate, and function test all assemblies according to ADS
  • This includes a variety of valve types and assemblies, Pneumatic & Electric Actuators, manual valves, rotary valves and linear valves.
  • Working knowledge of Specialized automation accessories such as limit switches, solenoids, positioner, quick exhaust etc.
• Assist with automation final QC/QA and Photo documentation
• Troubleshooting any automation / valve issues in the shop.
• Provide backup support for the Shipping Manager. This includes packaging, dock coverage, and
  • assist with unloading and loading trucks
• Provide offsite support if needed
• Help with printing and editing ADS
• Maintain general warehouse and shop safety as well as cleanliness
  • Empty’s VAC area trash cans as needed every morning
• Attend monthly safety meetings and Trainings

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in home appliance repair preferred.

• Fluke Meters, 4-20 mA Generators, Electrical Wiring, Tube Bending. Experience with Pneumatic tools and compressed air.

• Work with Computers specifically Microsoft SharePoint, Outlook and Excel

This role operates in a warehouse environment and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers are used. Occasional visits to warehouses or operational sites may be required.
