Job summary

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, is seeking a 3rd Function Valve Sub Assembler in Salina, KS. This full-time role involves assembling valves, staging components, inspecting quality, and maintaining accurate production records in a hands-on manufacturing environment. The position operates Monday–Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

with potential overtime. Responsibilities include following schedules, enforcing safety practices, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe valve assembly work area.
• Read and follow production schedules, work orders, bills of material, drawings, routings, and assembly instructions to determine valve components, quantities, and build requirements.
• Kit, stage, and verify valve components, hardware, seals, fittings, labels, and related parts to ensure correct materials are available for assembly.
• Assemble valves and related components according to specifications using appropriate hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and assembly equipment.
• Install, align, tighten, and secure components such as valve bodies, cartridges, spools, springs, fittings, plugs, seals, O-rings, hoses, and mounting hardware as required.
• Inspect components and completed valve assemblies for proper fit, finish, orientation, cleanliness, and conformance to quality standards.
• Perform required checks, tests, or functional inspections on valve assemblies and report defects, shortages, or nonconforming materials to the appropriate supervisor or quality personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of parts used, kits completed, assemblies produced, shortages, defects, and other required production information.
• Use computer systems, scanners, paperwork, tags, or labels to document production activity, component usage, inventory movement, and completed assemblies.
• Move, lift, stage, and organize materials, kits, and completed valve assemblies using proper material-handling methods and equipment.
• Communicate with team members, supervisors, inventory personnel, and quality personnel regarding part availability, assembly issues, production priorities, and process improvements.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, organization, and workflow within the valve assembly and kitting area.
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned that require additional qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
