Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering or Continuous Improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong Analytical and data-driven decision making skills.
  • Understanding of electronics assembly, PCB assembly integration, and production systems.
  • Experience developing Standard work, Work Instructions, Process Documentation; Leading Kaizen and Problem Solving.
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a manufacturing or value stream environment.
  • Experience supporting electronics assembly, PCB integration, product configuration, testing, or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of ESD controls, product traceability systems, and electronics manufacturing best practices preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Identify process constraints, bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and sources of variation.
  • Improve process capability and stability through standardization and disciplined problem solving.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes meet customer requirements consistently.
  • Lead implementation of Continuous Improvement principles throughout the value stream.
  • Establish and maintain visual management systems to make abnormalities visible.
  • Support pull systems, flow improvements and waste elimination initiatives.
  • Promote customer-first culture; develop people.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement; address root causes at source.
  • Prioritize high-impact opportunities and lead Kaizen to improve flow, productivity, quality, delivery and cost while maintaining results.
  • Drive improvements in First Pass Yield, Productivity, Throughput, Lead Time, Inventory, On-Time Delivery, Cost.
  • Lead structured root cause investigations (5 Why, Fishbone, A3, PDCA) and prevent recurrence.
  • Support cross-functional problem solving with Product Specialists, Engineers, Supervisors, Operators, and Supply Chain.
  • Provide direct production floor support; align standard work with execution.
  • Improve workstation design, ergonomics, tooling, material presentation, configuration, testing, traceability and ESD-controlled environments.
  • Develop and maintain standard work, work instructions and process documentation.
  • Conduct time studies, line balancing, labor optimization, and process analysis to improve flow and efficiency.
  • Support optimization of assembly, configuration, programming, testing, verification and packaging processes for electronics products.
  • Improve flow of components, PCBs, finished goods, and materials throughout the value stream.
  • Partner with Product Specialists to ensure customer requirements can be executed in production.
  • Partner with Product & Quality Engineers to eliminate process-related failures affecting PCB assembly and product performance.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering to implement improvements.
  • Support new product introductions and process changes to ensure successful manufacturing execution.

VALUE STREAM PROCESS ENGINEER – ELECTRONICS

Role Summary/Purpose

The Process Engineer will be a member of the Electronics Value Stream, reporting to the Electronics Value Stream Manager, and is responsible for the performance, stability, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes within the value stream.

This role owns the identification, prioritization, and implementation of process improvements that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. The Process Engineer is responsible for making problems visible, establishing and maintaining standard work, improving material and information flow, and eliminating waste through application of Continuous Improvement principles.

The Process Engineer serves as the primary technical resource for process-related issues and is responsible for driving sustainable improvements that increase productivity, improve quality, reduce lead time, and enhance the overall customer experience.

This role supports the assembly, configuration, testing, verification, and packaging of electronic products, including printed circuit board assemblies, electronic subassemblies, and finished products.

The role operates with a hands-on approach, spending significant time on the production floor observing processes, identifying opportunities, implementing improvements, and developing people.

  • Partner with Product Specialists to ensure customer requirements can be effectively executed within production processes.
  • Partner with Product & Quality Engineers to identify and eliminate process-related failures affecting printed circuit board assembly integration, product configuration, testing, and final product performance.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to implement improvements.
  • Support new product introductions and process changes to ensure successful manufacturing execution.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering, process engineering, industrial engineering or Continuous Improvement role within a manufacturing environment
