Standex International, a global industrial growth company, is seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to develop and sustain efficient processes. You will lead Lean initiatives, design for manufacturability, and optimize workflows to reduce waste and cost while maintaining quality.

Collaborating with design, R&D, and operations, you will implement KPIs, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement across production lines. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or related field.
  • Experience with CAD and assembly design.
  • 3+ years in manufacturing or process engineering.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and process documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify efficiency gains and cost reductions.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and related methods.
  • Establish KPIs to measure process performance and impact.
  • Collaborate with design and R&D to improve manufacturability.
  • Review routers and SOPs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to monitor production metrics.

TheManufacturing Process Engineeris responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining efficient manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality product output while minimizing waste and cost. This role plays a critical part in continuous improvement initiatives, equipment integration, and driving operational excellence within the production environment.

What You'll Do
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve process inefficiencies and quality issues.
Process Design & Development
  • Collaborate with product design and R&D teams to ensure products are designed for efficient manufacturability.
  • Design, configure, and optimize production processes from inception through startup and certification.
  • Recommend design modifications to improve production efficiency and reduce ergonomic risks.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools that enhance process capabilities and reduce operational costs.
Manufacturing Routers Review
  • Review and update manufacturing routers to ensure accurate documentation of process steps, cycle times, and resource allocation.
  • Identify and recommend changes to router instructions to streamline workflows and eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Ensure that routers reflect current best practices and compliance with operational and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and planning teams to validate router accuracy and efficiency.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Use data-driven decision-making to track, analyze, and report on process performance metrics.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to provide insights into production performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Leverage statistical tools to predict and prevent process bottlenecks.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure that processes adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation to ensure compliance and repeatability.
  • Conduct audits to identify opportunities for improvement, maintain process integrity and ensure adherence to best practices.
Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting
  • Act as a technical expert in diagnosing and resolving process-related issues in production.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to address technical challenges promptly.
  • Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and implement preventive solutions.
Project Management
  • Manage process improvement projects from initiation to completion, including budgeting, resource allocation, and timeline tracking.
  • Engage stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment and support for project initiatives.
  • Monitor the impact of implemented changes and ensure sustainability of improvements through productivity tracking
Training & Knowledge Sharing
  • Train production teams on new processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement among team members.
  • Create documentation and knowledge-sharing resources to institutionalize process improvements.
Sustainability & Innovation
  • Incorporate energy-saving, waste reduction, and sustainability practices into process improvements.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in process engineering.
  • Promote creative solutions that enhance the organization's competitive advantage through people, process and technology.
  • Occasional travel to vendors or other manufacturing locations may be required.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience with Electronic or Electromechanical assembly.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering role.
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
