Ideal candidate has 5+ years in machine shop management, deep machining knowledge, and hands-on Lean experience to optimize flow and exceed performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years machine shop management.
• Minimum 3 years in a leadership role within a sophisticated manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing high-mix, low-volume operations.
• Deep understanding of machining manufacturing.
• Hands-on Lean production experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

• Strategic operations: Develop and execute the roadmap to run and scale the Industrial & Specialty Products value stream while managing daily production, maintenance, quality, and logistics.
• Safety and compliance: Drive a zero-incident culture and meet OSHA, FDA, and environmental requirements.
• People and culture: Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing team across production, quality, supply chain, and engineering.
• Lean excellence: Apply Value Stream Analysis, Rapid Improvement Events, SMED, and 5S to remove waste and improve flow.
• Performance management: Improve OEE, productivity, scrap, and labor efficiency via Basic Problem Solving and Root Cause/Countermeasure.
• Financial stewardship: Own the value stream P&L and budget, reducing cost while managing labor, overhead, and operating expenses.
• Scheduling and materials: Direct production scheduling and material forecasting for availability, optimal inventory, and reliable delivery.
• Cross-functional partnership: Collaborate with Sourcing/Supply Chain, Technical, Quality, and Commercial teams to align capabilities with customer needs and market shifts.
• Process optimization: Enhance existing processes, automation, and quality control systems for high-yield, cost-efficient output.
• Technology scouting: Stay ahead of emerging machining technologies to keep the value stream competitive.
