Job summary

Dresser is seeking a Value Stream Product Specialist in Houston, TX to own configuration and order integrity from customer requirements to manufacturable product definitions. You will be the central link between customer care, engineering, supply chain, and production to ensure right-first-time builds.

You will maintain BOM accuracy, support engineering changes, and coordinate with procurement to prevent production risks while driving cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• High School graduate with mechanical aptitude and 2-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment, product configuration, or engineering support roles.
• Experience in manufacturing operations, product configuration, or engineering support roles.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into production requirements.
• Experience working cross-functionally in a manufacturing or value stream environment.
• Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures, engineering change processes, and production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into complete, accurate, and buildable product configurations for right-first-time manufacturing.
• Review and validate all work orders prior to release to ensure alignment with customer specifications and internal requirements.
• Identify discrepancies and drive resolution with stakeholders before production begins.
• Define, maintain, and control product configurations, ensuring all parameters and test requirements are established and executed.
• Provide direct technical support to manufacturing operations for clear guidance during builds.
• Serve as the technical authority within the value stream for configuration and customer-specific requirements.
• Maintain BOM accuracy, ensuring correct parts, revisions, and structures are reflected in production orders.
• Support engineering change management by implementing customer requirement changes across configurations and BOMs.
• Verify material readiness for upcoming production and coordinate with procurement to avoid interruptions.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, quality, and customer service to align customer requirements with production.
• Support the customer complaint process with root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by analyzing production issues, historical data, and feedback to strengthen configuration processes.
