Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for the Value Innovation Group in Peoria, IL to lead cross-functional cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

You will identify, evaluate, develop, and implement opportunities that reduce product and process costs while maintaining safety, quality, delivery, and performance. The ideal candidate has strong experience in fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly, and with methods that

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in manufacturing engineering; 5+ years preferred.
• Experience driving manufacturing improvements through design and process changes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CAD software.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.

Responsibilities

• Identify and prioritize cost reduction opportunities across design and processes.
• Select tools and programs for automated equipment using CAD/CAM.
• Complete projects on time using project planning tools.
• Recommend tooling and equipment for fabrication and warehousing.
• Understand budgets and improve safety, quality, and cost.
• Apply Lean tools including 5S, Kaizen, PDCA and Visual Factory.
• Perform time studies and Make Vs. Buy analyses.
• Maintain up-to-date area layouts and support ISO documents.
