Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Primary Care Medical Assistant to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a value-based practice. You will room patients, obtain histories and vitals, document in the EHR, and coordinate care beyond visits.

The MA supports Upperline Plus, works on-site in Corbin, KY with travel to Danville, KY location, and collaborates with physicians and care teams to ensure smooth clinical operations and proactive outreach.

Qualifications

• Certified MA or minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical primary care setting
• Experience in a primary care / outpatient clinic setting is strongly preferred
• Certified MA or phlebotomy certification strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and basic pharmacology, including medication classifications, dosing ranges, and potential side effects
• Ability to accurately interpret provider documentation, diagnostic orders, and treatment plans
• Care coordination or care management experience is ideal
• EMR experience with AthenaHealth is preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure effective interactions with patients and team members

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
• Assist NP with health assessments in-clinic visits for Upperline Plus patients
• Facilitate virtual provider encounters from the clinic setting
• Document clinical information in the EHR
• Perform medication reconciliation and identify discrepancies
• Coordinate ongoing preventative care through outreach
• Manage messages, prescriptions, and prior authorizations
• Coordinate medical records requests and referrals
• Support workflow and patient flow in daily operations
• Collaborate with care team and external resources
